  1. How much heat does a bio-ethanol Stove/Fireplace generate?

    The smokeless models produce 1.2 - 3.0kW of heat. If your building has an average insulation level, the heat produced by our decorative fireplace can heat a 25-30 square meter room.

    As there is no heat loss through a chimney, a large portion of the heat remains in the room.

  3. What is the burning time of Bio-ethanol?

    Depending on the setting – 1 Litre will last you 4 hours at full setting, and up to 8 hours at ½ setting.

  4. How much will this cost?

    AT EIL we sell 20 Litres of Bio-ethanol for €66.00. Thus 1Litre will cost you €3.30. If you burn at the full setting, you will operate the Beefire Stove at €0.82c per hour. However, you will most probably operate the stove at full setting for the first hour, and reduce thereafter, making the average burning time of 1 Litre 5-6 hours.

  5. How long do the stoves have to be burning to feel a significant increase in room temperature?

    Within minutes of lighting. To reach maximum heat in a typical room will only take on average 10-15 minutes.

  6. Will burning a Bio-fireplace or Stove cause the air in the room to dry out?

    Ordinary sources of heat such as radiators or electric heaters usually dry out the air. When burning Bio fireplaces and glass fires, steam is emitted this increases relative humidity.

  7. How safe is the fuel?

    Having been thoroughly tested, the fuel received the approval of specialists from the Environmental Toxicology Department of the National Institute of Hygiene in regard to its safety for people and the environment, and with reservation of use in accordance with designation, label instructions and the operations manual.

  8. Is bio ethanol a renewable source of energy?

    Bio ethanol fuel is a biologically clean product of plant origin, which has undergone rectification three times. It constitutes a wholly renewable source of energy. It is made by fermentation from grains rich in sugar or starch, for example cereal crops, sugar beet and sorghum plants. In Sweden, it is produced locally from Biomass such as from cereals, wine and sugar cane, and wood waste.

  9. Is smoke emitted during burning?

    Neither smell nor smoke is emitted during burning. As a result of burning, steam and CO 2 remain in the air in proportions similar to those contained in the air exhaled by humans. No undesired side-effects such as smoke, ash or solid remains.

  10. Is room ventilation required?

    As with all open fires, a provision of room ventilation is required. However, unlike traditional fireplaces a chimney or external wall exit is not required. In apartments with small cubic capacity a slightly opened window is suffice.

    No. We sell ceramic logs which can be used instead. These logs are available to buy for €180.00

  14. Can the stoves be used outside?

    Beefire have manufactured the Pyros L and Pyros, and the Tippi range for outdoor areas. For the other models you can ask for a special coating which is more expensive but available.

  15. Do the stoves need servicing?

    Please note the Instruction Manual - you will read instructions for cleaning the burning combustion unit and glass – cleaning is normally required 4 times a year.

  16. Are the stoves safe around children?

    With all heating appliances care is required. However, Beefire has designed the units to be safe, e.g. there is a latch which protects the drawer, security glass, etc.
